working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Lafayette,
Indiana, 47905! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing
Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day
Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 18 months
preferred. License: Must have state license in hand prior to start.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Solid neuro
experience. Experience in mixed acuity units with medical surgical
and progressive levels of care. Description: Seeking a Registered
Nurse for a dynamic mixed acuity unit. This unit provides care for
medical patients with some progressive care level of care patients.
Areas of care include oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal,
and pulmonary. The nurse-patient ratio for medical-surgical
patients is 1:5-6, and for progressive care patients, it is 1:3-4.
Required skills include management of cardiac drips, administration
of chemotherapy, and monitoring unstable strokes. The ideal
candidate will have experience with BiPAP and CPAP management.
Nurses will be responsible for titrating cardiac and insulin drips.
Responsibilities also include assessing and managing ports,
administering blood products, and starting and maintaining IVs.
Floating within the facility or to nearby affiliate hospitals may
be required. This role involves interdisciplinary collaboration
with physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and
pharmacy. Candidates should demonstrate advanced skills in
interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. Travelers may be required
to fulfill weekend coverage as needed. This position requires
flexibility in scheduling and willingness to float to various
