Job Title: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years required License: In-state license is required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred Must-Have: - Knowledge of Med/Surg, pre/post neuro surgery, total joint replacements, and trauma management. - Experience with orthopedic trauma and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias preferred. Description: The position requires a registered nurse with experience in medical-surgical nursing. Candidates should possess a minimum of 1.5 years of experience. First-time travelers are accepted. Candidates must have an in-state license and required certifications in hand to be submitted. Floating to other areas within the facility is required. Candidates must work two out of three major holidays. Guaranteed hours include 40 hours in one workweek for 8 and 10-hour shifts, 36 hours for three 12-hour shifts, and 48 hours for four 12-hour shifts. The unit provides care for orthopedic, gynecology, urology, neurosurgery, and medical patients. Other medical diagnoses include COPD, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, cellulitis, COVID-19, and small bowel obstruction. Candidates should be prepared to handle interventions such as continuous bladder irrigation, hysterectomy, chest tubes, and all bone fractures.
