Job Description:
Grade/Salary Range: A12 ($17.75 - $21.57/ hourly)/A13 ($19.12 -
$23.23/hourly) - Non- Exempt * Salary commensurate with experience
Position Summary: Under the direction of the Environmental Health
Clerical Support Supervisor, the Environmental Health Records
Technician is responsible for providing administrative assistance
and customer support for General Services, Special Services, and
Air Pollution Control within the Office of Environmental Health
Responsibilities include but not limited to: Providing over the
counter service by answering environmental health program specific
questions, receiving payments, and researching requests for
industry facility and property inquiries. Answering and directing
incoming telephone inquiries, questions, and complaints using a
multi-line phone system. Processing air pollution applications,
licenses, and permits. Building new records for industrial air.
Entering data into web-based databases. Maintaining inventories of
supplies and equipment. Generating fee invoices and assisting with
fee collections Documenting citizen complaints. Balancing cash
drawer daily. Operating office equipment (i.e., personal computer,
photo copier/printer, fax, and credit card machine). Minimum
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Experience with
computer applications/software including MS Office, and ability to
type 35 wpm. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
EH Records Technician II/A13: Two (2) years' experience as an EH
Records Technician I. Understands and acknowledges that Public
Health - Dayton & Montgomery County uses evidence-based and
evidence-informed public health practices based on scientific
research including health promotion theory and practice,
environmental health measures, and communicable disease control
measures including vaccination, isolation, and quarantine
practices, and medicine for treatment and prevention of disease,
among others. Understands and acknowledges the use of tobacco or
nicotine products in any form including replacement therapy
products and prescription medications used to treat smoking
addiction for anyone hired after January 1, 2014, is prohibited
Required to play an active role during a public health emergency,
crisis, outbreak, incident, or event in which the Health
Commissioner deems additional personnel resources are warranted.
This may include changes in responsibilities and working
locations/hours Completion of Incident Command System 100 and
National Incident Management System 700 courses within 90 days of
hire Valid State of Ohio driver’s license and insurance on any
personal vehicle that will be used for work Preferred
Qualifications: Associate's degree in Business Administration
Experience working with multi-line telephone system One (1) year of
