Job Description:

Lead the Flow of Fabrication Step into a role where each day starts on the production floor. You’ll scan the fabrication value stream, align with off-shift supervisors, post daily work assignments, and set the tone for safety, quality, delivery, and team morale. From layered process audits to quick corrective actions, you’ll keep products moving at planned lead-times and ensure our people have what they need to win the day. A Day in This Role Kick off with a daily production walk (gemba) to review schedule attainment, constraints, and quality signals; drive real-time corrections and escalate when appropriate. Own production schedules across all shifts; set work priorities, overtime, and cross-training plans to meet customer commitments. Maintain day-to-day compliance with Avalign and FDA QSR requirements; reinforce GMP, EHS, and Quality Systems training and behaviors. Conduct spot quality checks, 5S checks, and Layered Process Audits to sustain a disciplined operating system. Act as the department point person for Facilities, Maintenance, HR, Quality, and Engineering; keep leadership informed of key developments. Ensure smooth product flow through the manufacturing cell at established lead-times; proactively manage bottlenecks and staffing. Lead and coach hourly operators and team leads; provide feedback, resolve problems, and build a resilient, multi-skilled team. Recruit, onboard, develop, and promote team members; complete performance reviews and maintain time, attendance, and disciplinary records. Champion continuous improvement projects and provide manufacturing input throughout the Engineering Change process. What You Bring High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Three or more years in biomedical/medical device and/or military environments. Eight years combined experience across industry, military, and/or related functions (manufacturing, quality, logistics); equivalent education/experience considered. Leadership background (including military leadership) strongly preferred. Comfort in a fast-paced setting; able to plan and execute across teams and shifts. Strong written and verbal communication; quick learner with a builder’s mindset. Reliable, team-oriented, and ready to take ownership.
