Engineering in Indianapolis Device Assembly and Manufacturing is
responsible for maintaining the site’s facility infrastructure
including buildings, HVAC, GMP utilities, steam, water, sewer and
other utility systems to a state of compliance. It must assure that
facilities and related infrastructure are fit for use when needed,
maintenance and reliability techniques are efficient and effective,
and appropriate corrective and improvement actions are taken when
necessary. Plant Engineering is also responsible for the efficient
and effective management of local capital for their assets and
oversight of engineering/maintenance contract resources.
Responsible for delivering facilities expansions, retrofits,
developing the scope of the project, gaining management buy in,
providing clear concise communication, working with outside
construction firms. The Plant Engineer is responsible for
establishing and maintaining the reliable operation and qualified
state of the equipment and business processes in the areas they
support. This includes HVAC, Utilities, and ancillary systems
(i.e.- pest control) associated within their facilities. The Plant
Engineer ensures that equipment is in-control, compliant, and
capable of meeting customer needs, while also driving associated
continuous improvement initiatives. The Plant Engineer receives
direction from the senior engineer. The Plant Engineer is
responsible for prioritizing and coordinating the work of the
Engineering Tech. The Plant Engineer ensures that FRAP guidance is
followed. Key Objectives/Deliverables: Safety First: Ensure a safe
working environment by following safety rules and helping improve
the safety culture Take overall responsibility for the safe design
of the equipment Ability to work in a safe manner to ensure the
safety of self and others Reliable supply: Understand HVAC,
Utilities and Facility applications in manufacturing operations An
understanding of mechanical equipment used in a manufacturing
environment (Pumps, motors, etc.) Perform structured problem
solving independently or through facilitation with other engineers,
technicians, skilled trades, and operators Monitors/trends control
systems Responsible for ensuring correct application of predictive
maintenance technologies across site Seek and implement new
technologies to enhance equipment performance and availability SME
on flow charts, process parameters, and Engineering Function
Standards Perform process monitoring Responsible for
troubleshooting Engaged on communication to customers for system
issues Responsible for the evaluation of all activities that have
the potential to impact the qualified state for their system(s)
Identify and drive improvement opportunities (procedural changes,
upgrades, projects, etc.) associated with equipment and processes
within the area Responsible for equipment reliability issues and
maintenance strategy with the objective of improvement
Participate/Provide oversight in ensuring scheduled shutdowns are
planned and executed effectively GMARS/CMMS: Data accuracy and
structure Spare parts identification and stocking strategy Project
/ Facility Upgrade Delivery: Develop scope for capital projects
targeted at both short-term and longer-term needs Act as user
representative for capital projects or delivery agent for local
projects Lead or participate in IQ/OQ/PQ activities (including
commissioning activities) Lead or participate in capital projects
for applicable HVAC and utility systems in area(s) of
responsibility Developing successful project teams Managing the
team to achieve to business goals of the project Developing the
implementation plan (schedule) of the project Communicating the
status of projects to area management Managing the entire project
to completion (scope development, budget, construction,
commissioning, qualification, and validation) People Development:
Technical leader and mentor for Engineering Techs Quality
Management System: Responsible for all CAPA and deviation
investigations / originations (e.g. root cause analysis) Change
Control owner and executer for applicable systems Additional:
Ensure facility and utility drawings are accurate HVAC, Utility,
and Facility SME for audits Responsible for periodic reviews of
systems and procedures Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in
engineering ?or related science Minimum 2 years of facilities
engineering-related experience Additional Preferences: Strong
problem-solving skills Technical understanding of HVAC, Utilities
and Facilities (including rotating equipment) Good interpersonal
and communications skills Ability to work effectively in a
cross-functional environment Ability to communicate effectively
with all levels of the organization Strong computer skills
Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely

site goals Previous experience within the pharmaceutical industry
Ability to apply statistical thinking concepts to the analysis of

is based in Indianapolis, IN and requires onsite presence the
majority of the time. This is not a fully remote position. This

on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic
location. The anticipated wage for this position is $64,500 -
$167,200 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a
company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual
performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit
