Responsibilities: We are seeking a highly motivated engineer to be
part of our firmware team. Key responsibilities include:
Participate in defining firmware subsystem requirements and
architecture. Write code to meet firmware requirements following
applicable design patterns. Provide input into firmware
verification strategies, write unit tests, and review protocols for
formal firmware testing. Follow design controls and risk management
SOPs to create design history file deliverables for embedded
firmware that comply with international standards (e.g., IEC 62304,
ISO 14971), including deliverables that support regulatory
submissions. Work with partners on software design and development,
ensuring proper processes and procedures are in-place and comply
with local procedures, international standards, and regulatory
requirements. Experience using electronic test equipment such as
oscilloscopes, BLE analyzers, logic analyzers, and digital
multimeters. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in
engineering, computer science, or equivalent STEM field. 5 years’
experience in C-based embedded firmware development. Additional
Skills / Preferences: Experience developing medical devices or
other regulated industry products/systems. Familiar with RF
communication protocols, such as BLE, Wi-Fi, Zigbee, or cellular.
Experience developing firmware for low power, low-cost applications
designed around ARM Core-based hardware architectures. Familiar
with design controls, device risk management, and quality system
requirements, including understanding of international standards
ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, and IEC 60601. Experience
collaborating with vendors and partners. Familiarity with
implementing control systems concepts in firmware would be a plus,
including algorithms to achieve a target. Superior interpersonal
skills, exceptional communication skills, and demonstrated ability
to effectively collaborate with and influence internal and external
business and technical partners. Other information: Primary
location is at Lilly Technology Center – North, Indianapolis, IN.

on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic
location. The anticipated wage for this position is $97,500 -
$143,000 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a
company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual
performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit
